Description

This Quick Sloppy Joe Pasta Casserole is a hearty and flavorful dish that combines the classic flavors of sloppy joes with cheesy pasta in a comforting casserole. Perfect for a quick and easy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pasta:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and cook the pasta: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef and onion: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add seasonings and sauce: Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Combine with pasta and bake: Stir in the cooked pasta, then transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake for 15 minutes until bubbly.
  5. Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
