For the Pasta:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and cook the pasta: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Cook the beef and onion: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add seasonings and sauce: Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine with pasta and bake: Stir in the cooked pasta, then transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake for 15 minutes until bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
