Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Prepare the Dough: Stir in oats and raisins or chocolate chips (and nuts if using). Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are set.
- Cool and Enjoy: Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them and let them finish setting on the baking sheet.
- You can also swap raisins for dried cranberries or add shredded coconut for variety.
