Description

These Honey Lemon Pepper Wings are the perfect combination of sweet, tangy, and spicy. Crispy baked chicken wings are coated in a sticky honey lemon pepper sauce that’s bursting with flavor. Whether you’re serving them as an appetizer or a main course, these wings are sure to be a hit!

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drums and flats)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Prepare the wings: Pat the wings dry with paper towels, then toss them in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly coated. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the baking rack or sheet.
  3. Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Make the sauce: While the wings bake, in a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, and salt. Stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Toss with sauce: Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl and toss with the warm honey lemon pepper sauce until fully coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, refrigerate them uncovered for a few hours before baking to dry out the skin.
  • You can also air fry at 400°F for 25–30 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Adjust the lemon and pepper to taste for a zestier or spicier version.
