Description

Learn how to make your own version of Taco Bell’s popular Nacho Fries at home with this easy and delicious recipe!

Ingredients

Scale

For the fries:

  • 1 bag (28–32 oz) frozen French fries
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the nacho cheese sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded American cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and bake fries: Preheat oven and bake fries according to package directions until golden and crispy.
  2. Season the fries: Combine chili powder, smoked paprika, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Toss the cooked fries in the seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then gradually whisk in milk until slightly thickened. Reduce heat, stir in cheeses, chili powder, smoked paprika, and salt until melted and creamy.
  4. Serve: Serve seasoned fries hot with nacho cheese sauce for dipping or drizzling.

Notes

  • For an authentic Taco Bell flavor, use a mix of mild cheddar and processed American cheese in the sauce.
  • You can also air-fry the fries for extra crispiness.
