Ground Beef Stew Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, diced

- 3 celery stalks, sliced

- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup green beans, trimmed and chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour mixed with 1/4 cup water (optional, for thickening)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook ground beef: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add vegetables: Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened.
- Stir in seasonings: Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, oregano, bay leaf, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Cook potatoes: Add potatoes, cover, and simmer until tender.
- Add peas and green beans: Stir in green beans and peas. Cook for additional 5 minutes.
- Thicken stew: For a thicker stew, add flour-water slurry and simmer until thickened.
- Serve: Remove bay leaf, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
