Description

This Garlic Chicken with Broccoli recipe is a flavorful and healthy stir-fry dish that’s quick and easy to make. Tender chicken pieces, crisp broccoli, and a savory garlic sauce come together to create a delicious meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, toss chicken with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Stir-Fry: Add broccoli to the skillet with 1/4 cup water, cover, and steam for 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender. Remove any excess water. Add garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in chicken broth, oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  4. Finish the Dish: Return chicken to the skillet. Pour in cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • You can substitute snow peas or bok choy for part of the broccoli.
  • For a spicier version, add 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes along with the garlic.
