For the noodles:
- 8 ounces lo mein noodles or spaghetti
For the beef and broccoli stir-fry:
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Cook noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, beef broth, and cornstarch.
- Stir-fry the beef: Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add sliced beef and stir-fry until browned but not fully cooked, about 2–3 minutes. Remove beef and set aside.
- Cook the broccoli: Add remaining oil to the skillet, then stir-fry broccoli, garlic, and ginger for 3–4 minutes until broccoli is tender-crisp.
- Combine and finish: Return beef to the skillet, pour in the sauce, and stir until thickened. Toss in cooked noodles and mix well until coated and heated through. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

- You can swap beef for chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of chili garlic sauce or sriracha.
