Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Cream Cheese Layer
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pudding Layer
- 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
Toppings
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- 1 cup caramel sauce, plus more for topping
- 1 1/2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until evenly moistened. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form an even crust layer. Chill in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
- Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract, then continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust and return the dish to the refrigerator.
- Prepare Pudding Layer: In another bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk for about 2 minutes until the pudding thickens. Spread the pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer. Chill the dish for 10 minutes to set the pudding.
- Add Caramel and Pecans: Drizzle caramel sauce over the pudding layer and sprinkle half of the toasted chopped pecans evenly on top, adding a nutty crunch and extra flavor.
- Top with Whipped Topping: Spread the whipped topping evenly over the caramel and pecans layer. Finish by drizzling more caramel sauce over the top and sprinkling with the remaining toasted pecans for decoration and added texture.
- Chill Before Serving: Refrigerate the entire dessert for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow all layers to set well and flavors to meld together beautifully. Serve chilled.
Notes
- To toast pecans, place them in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring often until fragrant.
- For added richness and a chocolate twist, use a chocolate graham cracker crust or drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel layer.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened before mixing to ensure a smooth cream layer.
- Allow the dessert enough chilling time to fully set; overnight is best.
- This dessert can be prepared a day ahead, making it ideal for parties and gatherings.
