- ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: shaved Parmesan or mozzarella for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and bake for 8–10 minutes.
- Prepare tomato mixture: Combine tomatoes, minced garlic, basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.
- Toast bread: Rub warm toasted bread with whole garlic clove.
- Assemble: Spoon tomato mixture onto each slice of bread. Top with cheese if desired and serve.
