Bread:

- 3/4 cup brown sugar

- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Toppings:
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Prepare the Casserole: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the bread cubes evenly in the dish.
- Mix the Custard: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- Soak the Bread: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread, pressing gently to ensure all pieces are soaked. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F. If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans over the top and dot with butter. Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown and set. Rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
